Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-orientated and proactive Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our finance team. This role is vital in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring timely collection of payments, and supporting the overall financial health of the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the accounts receivable ledger for multiple care homes.
- Generate and issue invoices to residents, families, and local authorities.
- Monitor incoming payments and follow up on outstanding balances.
- Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Liaise with care home managers and external stakeholders regarding billing queries.
- Prepare regular reports on aged debtors and cash flow forecasts.
- Assist with month-end and year-end financial processes.
- Support the wider finance team with ad hoc tasks as required.
Requirements
- Proven experience in an accounts receivable or similar finance role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Strong communication skills and a professional, empathetic approach.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience in the care sector or working with local authorities is desirable but not essential.
